Write down what happened
A God moment is a personal entry about somewhere you noticed God at work: a conversation, an unexpected kindness, an answer to prayer, or something you are still making sense of. Writing one in your own words is free.
On iPhone, choose a God moment from Create. Add an optional title, write what you want to remember, and check When it happened. You can record a past moment rather than using today’s date. Tap Save when you are ready. To find the entry again, open Today, find Your Journey, and tap View all.
Add a photo or a place if it helps
Choose Add photos to include selected images. Wait for them to finish preparing before saving. If preparation fails, use Retry photos, or remove the unfinished selection and choose it again. A photo is optional; your moment can be just words.
You can deliberately add your current location and remove it from the editor if you change your mind. This location belongs to the moment and can help you find it on your Journey map. Changing the moment’s date does not make the phone know where you were on that earlier date, so check the place before keeping it.
Get help finding the words
The optional guided God moment flow lets you talk or type about what happened. It can ask up to two optional questions and suggest a title and body. You can skip a question or choose Create draft now from the guided options.
Review the draft and edit anything that does not sound like you. Using the draft returns you to the moment editor; you still review and save the moment there. Guided wording changes the title and words, not your photo selection, date, or location.
Guided help uses Glean AI access and the cost shown before the request. Only your submitted words and answers go into that AI step; photos, the moment’s date, and location are not included. See AI and your data before sharing sensitive details.
Return, edit, and keep a backup
If you leave an unfinished moment, the editor offers a way to keep its draft. Open a saved moment from Journey to edit it, view its photos, or check its backup state. A moment marked Saved on this device has not become an account backup simply because you signed in.
Sign in and choose Back up to my account to keep a private account copy. If backup cannot finish, the saved device copy remains and the app offers a retry. Pausing backup does not remove an account copy already saved. Review account and sync before replacing your device, or include selected moments in a monthly Memory.
